All absences except sickness absence and holidays are considered general absence (e.g. compassionate leave). Employees cannot request general absence, only managers/controllers can add or delete general absence.
Managers have access only to the employees they line manage, while controllers have access to all employees.
Record general absence for an employee
- Go to
Management > Absence > General absence dates
- Find the employee whose absence you would like to add to the system
- Click on the "Absence type" drop down box to select from the types available to you. Controllers can add more types if the one you are looking for is not available
- Select if the absence is more than a day or less than a day and then submit.
- If less than a day, you will be able to enter the time the absence starts and finishes. Use 24 hour format to specify time.
Delete employee general absence record
Management > Absence > general absence dates. Find the absence record to be deleted and click on the delete link next to it.
Managing types of general absence
Controllers can add or remove types of general absence by going to
Setup and admin > Types of general absence. Controllers can also choose to always show the absence type in the calendar as well as choosing whether or not managers can select an absence type when adding general absence.
Can users view their general absence records?
Yes they can by going to
Myhome > absence > general absence history.
However, they cannot see what the absence relates to.
