Managing Employee Holidays
The employee's holiday manager gets notified by email each time the employee submits a holiday request. The holiday manager must login to accept or decline the holiday.
Approving or Declining Holiday Requests
Holiday requests generate a notification on the holiday manager's message board. The manager can respond to the request by clicking the view button next to the message board entry or by going directly to the list of holiday requests (
Management > Holidays > Outstanding holiday requests). From there, the manager can approve or decline the request.
Employees are not automatically notified of the decision by email. The manager responding to the holiday request must click on the Post Message button to send an email notification to the user.
If a holiday request is not approved or declined by the starting date of the holiday the system will display additional advisory messages, and the request will remain available for approval.
Holiday Request Withdrawal
After submitting a holiday request, an employee can change their mind and withdraw the holiday (
Myhome > holidays > holiday summary). There will be a "Withdraw" link next to any holiday that can be withdrawn.
Holidays request that have not been authorised by the manager are withdrawn immediately without further action from the holiday manager. If a request is already authorised - the employee must wait for their holiday manager to authorise or decline the withdrawal.
For holiday managers, the process of accepting or declining a withdrawal is the same as that for accepting holiday requests.
Holidays booked by a manager or controller on behalf of an employee are authorised straight away. Holiday requests made by senior employees who authorise their own holidays will also be authorised straight away.
