Controllers decide whether to allow employees access to the attendance chart or not. If access is allowed, whose holidays employees can see in the attendance chart can further be restricted by locations and/or departments.
Access to the holiday chart cannot be turned off for managers. Options for which employees are visible to the manager can be fine tuned for each manage
Controllers have access to all employees. Their access to holiday chart can not be limited.
Settings for controlling access to the holiday chart are set in
Setup & Admin > Access to holiday chart.
Note: The holiday calendar that is displayed in Outlook or Google calendar uses the setting chosen for employees.
The different access options that can be set are:
- Everyone in the employee's dept only
- Everyone in the employee's location only
- Everyone in the employee's dept AND everyone in the employee's location
- Everyone who is BOTH in the employee's dept AND their location
Access levels explained
Assume you are based in the HR department in London and you also have an HR department in Berlin.
Everyone in the employee’s dept only
Only employees in HR department London and HR department Berlin will be displayed.
Everyone in the employee’s location only
All employees from all departments in London will be displayed. Nobody in Berlin will not be displayed.
Everyone in the employee’s dept AND everyone in the employee’s location
Everyone in London will be displayed. Berlin employees in HR will also be displayed.
Everyone who is BOTH in the employee’s dept AND their location
Only HR employees in London will be displayed.
